ASIA MARKETS NOW LOWER ON EUROPEAN AND US DROPS CAN YOU SAY RAIL TO RAIL CHARYBDIS LIQUIDITY TRAP

I call this a domino effect.
Really rail to rail entrepreneurially unstable.

Truly wonderful for gold going forward.

Terms search rail to rail, venture capitalist,  Charybdis, Morton's Fork, liquidity trap.

THE POPE

He is onto something here:

"The economy cannot function as a self-regulated economy. Man must be at the economy's centre, which is not profit but solidarity."

RE RATING AGENCIES AND GOLDMAN LAST MAN STANDING ETC

I listened to part of history of ratings agencies on NPR yesterday.

It seems that several private companies took much of their work from the SEC, back in the day. Moody's set the pace.

A little laissez faire privatization, somehow gone terribly wrong. Sound familiar?

Of course Justice goes for weak low hanging fruit (now- outsourced private rating agencies),

and leaves the big boys strictly alone, where political, and market, influence can deter the outset of any serious quasi criminal investigation.

As the interviewee in the referenced video points out, they (it: last man standing) are to be treated rather like juvenile delinquents:

http://www.realecontv.com/videos/banking-malfeasance/goldman-sachs---too-big-to-prosecute.html

does that tell you anything about 'risk',

'last man standing' imagery,

now, going forward?

Terms search rating agencies, The Big Short, Liar's Poker, Michael Lewis, Popper, Wittgenstein, etc.

RE MIGRANT SCHOOLS CLOSED IN PEKING

Laissez faire enough. The visible hand.

What does human rights or education have to do with a market?

Probably a big security risk anyway, right there in the capitol.

Send them back to the interior.

We have a whole lot of schools that need to close over here,

what with all the cheap labor over there available now.

Educate whom?

RE BITING THE HAND THAT FEEDS THEM EUROPEAN LEADERS TAX ON FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS REAL FREE RIDERS FOR A CHANGE GREECE IRELAND SPAIN ITALY

Great idea to me.

I knew the 'big bond' would not fly with these folks.

Unfortunately, governments now, (or never), everywhere, need desperately to bite that hand that so-to-speak feeds them hard,

contrary to what this writer says today from Europe.

Governments need to bite back at too big to fail too big to fall financial institutions, and deglobalize their financial arrangements as much as possible going forward.

Globalization is a huge risk factor for anyone, going forward.

Recall that the US used to call developmental states free riders, when in fact they were more attackers than free riders in any real free rider sense.

Now Greece, and Italy, and Spain, they are real free riders on the EU,

as are our financial institutions that helped put them, and all of us, in this special spot.

BULLISH EMPLOYMENT NUMBERS PREPARE TO LOSE 40 MILLION OR SO WHITE COLLAR JOBS

Drop in the bucket?
Bullish for stocks!

This was Alan Blinder's estimate, quoted Steingart, p. 160.

That may approximate the very large numbers of un retrainable politician, or business administration degree holders, or lawyers, or accountants,  or medical personnel, in the country.

Very large numbers........

As Steingart points out, you can't give a virtual massage, or a snooty virtual haircut. Those jobs will remain.

WHAT'S A LITTLE HELICOPTER TECHNOLOGY IN THE LARGER SCHEME OF THINGS AMONG FRIENDS

See the point I have been making,

here made by Vorndran, Credit Suisse First Boston,

quoted in Steingart, p. 166.

'They won't be needed for much longer.........'

GLOBAL MARKETS IN A NEW DANGER ZONE BBC WORLD BANK XANADU

You said it.

Call in The Maverick Executive.

Of perhaps The Mongol Executive.

Mr Buffett wants US to stop coddling mega rich. Great point, but a little late, so to speak.

Rising regimes will not be so gentle with anyone over here, going forward.

Soft Power, not Gates' but Steingart's,  will turn.

WHAT MATTERS THIS OR THAT REASON?

See also "Price Wars":

RE BOBBITT STEINGART WAR OF THE WORLD VIEWS MARKET STATES OR ATTACKER STATES OR RISING LIBERAL MIDDLE CLASSES

Recall from 'Shield' the Market State concepts?
There were three or so so-called paradigms there,
for those little pups.

He has not been at the level of delusion as was Fukuyama with The End of History and the Last Man;

that was a tour de force of delusion.

I rather like Steingart's notion of Attacker States better than the notion of market states of one stripe or another;

that, to me, gives a truer flavor for things to come.

How about also 'Defender States', or 'Victim States', or perhaps 'Slave States' for those ranged in helpless opposition or  submission?

Steingart calls his book The War For Wealth.

I would call the future struggle based on what he discusses more a War For Survival.

That is really what is on the cards.

Re Thomas Friedman,  NYT editorial today, re why so called rising middle masses everywhere are 'mad', 'A Theory of Everything (sort of)', higher education, higher skills, import high skills workers, higher entrepreneurialism,  are still the answer for national  bourgeoisie, and wannabourgeoisie everywhere, etc., etc., :

Steingart's book is a sort of antidote.

"What matters this or that reason":

Re GABOR STEINGART SEES WHAT I HAVE SEEN TOO

Here was a prior post bemoaning the history, the aspect of open subsidized higher education here, 50 years on now. I am certain almost no reader grasped the meaning back then:

He points out the obvious point, re direct transfer by foreign direct investment, also going on for many decades now, and chronicled repeatedly on this site, in a great book, The War for Wealth, here at page 163:

"Knowledge used to be......
never before in history has there been such a massive transfer of knowledge-- without war or conquest-- from one social group to another."

Here was how I put it:

'Never In The History Of Human Conflict Has So Much

Been Given Away to

So Many By So Few.'

Great point to make, the one I have been making, but how to put it now,

as I have said, game over.

RE CORPORATIONS ARE PEOPLE MY FRIENDS MITT ROMNEY

Corporations are not people.

If the Supreme Court calls them people, for certain constitutional purposes,

that shows how far the constitution has been misinterpreted,  not just by the Court, and is outdated, and also shows some other things.

RE OLD CARTOON YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE SKETCH

Why not reprise this idea again:

I guess I think my ideas are good,

whether anyone else does or not........

RE FRAGILE AND ALSO VIOLENT REGIMES AND CUTTING TIES

I believe in cutting unnecessary ties, wherever they are.

And there are a lot of them.

But the call to cut ties to any nation, like Syria, that are in the throes of violent unrest, is a call to cut ties to almost all nations nowadays.

That also seems to make sense.

Haven't our economists declared, after all,  that they are all fragile now?

And doesn't fragility seem to lead, almost immediately, to violence?

Therefore, I say cut ties to all fragile economies,

before they turn violent.

Here is an example, of older posts, re cartoon ideas re intellectual disciplines relevant to today:

At the time, I thought this one of my more comical ideas.

Some day, the 'next' ' Barry Blitt ' may take up some of these little gems.
