THE CONCEPT OF RACE IS RELATIVELY SENSELESS EXCEPT AGAINST THE BACKDROP OF CIVILIZATIONS
This is the main way to begin to unravel the Whig interpretation of race that all Americans, including especially negroes and white racists, now have.
Jordan's classic White Over Black, "First impressions" sets the European historical and civilizational stage nicely.

What a globalist socialist lgbt leopards of color horror show.
Workers of the world of color, ubite.
Bite Squad.
Bite now!
Poor people in the West will not be helped by joining in common cause with their African or Indian or Chinese leopardman brothers in arms and throwing off the shackles of Globalist Aristocracy White oppression.
Why? As that globalist idiot, Kai Ryssdal, says "Let's do the numbers"....
Because the converged average wage of the globalist socialist leopard worker, even after all the super fat cats have been caught dispropriated and killed off, will still be only $800 a year, or probably less!
Not bad enuf fur ya?
Ok let's do some more ' environmentalist ' numbers.
Socialists love scientific reasons for action:
The eventual converged average wage,
after the super hot ASSROAST PHYSICS AGE sets in,
see eg Risk of Hothouse Earth despite CO2 Cuts,
may be, for those leopards of color still left alive, say $300 a year, a hot $300 a year.

Rather like liberal environmentalism.....
Feel good, NYT type, rich liberal, multiculrural, very highly globalist, pussy NIMBY animal rights advocates (not activists, who are whacko about it), all for wild animal rights in third world countries, humane slaughter, even though they are vegetarian, like dumb Indians, etc.
Only the top 10% of world population, and falling, can even afford to eat much expensive meat of any kind or quality, or vanishing supplies of fish, at all.

BROOKS' SIMON SAYS ENLIGHTENMENT
This is a profoundly misleading account, but it is what Americans have been brought up on for generations now, throughout the 20th Century.
Brooks thinks that the Enlightenment never ended (about the time of the American Rebellion or the French Revolution, in my judgment)! From some of Professor Kaiser's remarks, he seems to share this time warp view as well.
Brooks thinks 20th century leaders, but only some of them he likes, are Enlightenment leaders! He really believes that.

Brooks thinks 20th century leaders, but only some of them he likes, are Enlightenment leaders! He really believes that.
Do you think Enlightenment requires democracy? It certainly never meant anything of that kind for a long time, long before the Age of the Democratic Revolution, beginning only in about 1760.
How can you claim that Brooks' view is incorrect? Who would believe you? Where in this barrage would one begin?
Do you then get pegged as a Bannonist, whatever that turns out to be?
It certainly goes back to arguments claiming that the French Revolution somehow represented the Enlightenment. The founding fathers certainly all thought of themselves as enlightenment thinkers.
Of course Napoleon turned out to be a different thing, or did he? So, was he actually anti Enlightenment then?
He certainly believed in careers open to talent, and to rationalization and consolidation of the ostensibly backward Old European Order Europe, much as enlightened despots had themselves been trying to do for decades. He didn't care for religion. That's an enlightenment plus. He wasn't fond of an aristocracy, except of his relatives. That was an enlightenment plus. Jefferson started out calling him a wonderful man. Doesn't that make him the modern enlightened ruler par excellence, even though he didn't do it very democratically, to say the least? If not, why not?
The 19th Century movements Brooks calls anti Enlightenment, socialism, fascism, communism, were also themselves intellectual children of the Enlightenment. That is the ugly little secret he doesn't tell you either. WWI was painted as an imperialist war, thus somehow Anti Enlightenment.
Nationalism was a child of the Enlightenment.
Fascism, was a child, intellectually, of the enlightenment no less than was liberal democracy.
Communism, intellectually yet another child of the enlightenment.
Both communism and fascism sort of sprang from Hegel, who himself sort of sprang from the likes of Rousseau and Kant.

Fascism, was a child, intellectually, of the enlightenment no less than was liberal democracy.
Communism, intellectually yet another child of the enlightenment.
Both communism and fascism sort of sprang from Hegel, who himself sort of sprang from the likes of Rousseau and Kant.
Brooks doesn't really want to get into what I call this dark side of the Enlightenment, call it the Endarkenment.
He mentions Locke and Kant....He doesn't, of course, mention Rousseau, etc., classic later enlightenment thinker, hugely influential on the founding fathers and on revolutionary democratic Europe, idol of Robespierre.
He doesn't touch Hume, hugely important but poison for Brooks' theory of the power and goodness of Enlightenment reason. Yet he covers himself with his remarks on skepticism, painting it as leading to mostly good things in American democracy, separation of powers, checks and balances, things like that, things that, sadly, have not panned out at all as originally planned here, or as lauded by Tocqueville.
With Hume, on the intellectual plane, and especially with Rousseau, on the individual and emotional one, the Enlightenment worm had already turned on itself in mid 18th Century thought, actually even before the democratic revolution began in earnest in the 1760s.
Skepticism and the wantonness of the individual will represented the death of the Enlightenment, not its fruition. But the Enlightenment had plenty of offspring.

THE ENDARKENMENT ROUSSEAU'S ADAM SMITH'S AYN RAND'S PAUL RYAN'S DUMB AND DUMBER TARZAN
"How, in speaking of men whom he calls null, brutish, stupid, imbecile, can he exalt with enthusiasm their antique simplicity, their original goodness, their primitive innocence?"
"Has anyone ever said of an orang-outang that it was naturally good and happy wise and simple? or spoken of its antique simplicity, primitive innocence, and original goodness?"
"No, Jean-Jacques, I shall not treat you as a bad man for having dared to maintain that man is born good. Everyone knows that man comes from his creator good, happy, wise, and perfect; no one disputes this truth. What you are blamed for is your making man come from his creator in a state of stupidity, and yet maintain that in this state men are good, happy, wise, and simple. What you are blamed for is making their goodness depend on their imbecility, their happiness on their stupidity. What you are blamed for is your having been guilty in all your writings of an enormous abuse of language, and having offered us, as the true road to happiness, the ignorance, imbecility, and stupidity that you have not blushed to attribute to our first parents."

KRUGMAN'S ENLIGHTENMENT DEMOCRACY STATE OF NATURE MAINSTREAM AMERICA NOT THE RIGHT FRINGE
Re Krugman's Nasty, Brutish and Trump
Let's just quote Hobbes' whole state of nature phrase: solitary poor nasty brutish and short.
The Enlightenment state of nature, Krugman's, that of Locke, Diderot, and Rousseau, and of course Adam Smith, etc, was really a state of benign Godless anarchy, where isolated individuals, basically good but stupid by nature dwelt mostly in peace, plenty, and accidental harmony, pursuing their natural appetites. See eg: Catholics and Unbelievers in 18th Century France, Index Locke, Diderot, Rousseau. See especially p 133:
"Paradoxically, the men who trusted so highly in the powers of intelligence regarded the mind as essentially vacant and inert; the idea of the passive mind was indispensable to their system. it was the guarantee that the truths of nature might be perceived without distortion. It was the basis for the distinction, then so important and so clear, between enlightenment and prejudice. It was the metaphysical groundwork for the belief that men were equal, and that they possessed the quality of perfectibility, that is, susceptibility to progress. Minimizing the effects of will, denying original predisposition, refusing to see any inevitability in human nature, the doctrine was flatly contrary to the Christian idea of sin; and by representing man as a passive child of circumstances, easily abused by his environment, it slipped sometimes into a notion that human nature, when crude, is good; and that order, restraint, discipline, and suppression are affronts to man's dignity and freedom." Palmer, p 133, 134
For the Enlightenment thinkers, government was part of the problem, not the solution, and so it was with the colonists.
So when Krugman says something like this, claiming to criticize only the American right, he shows himself to be truly a Whig pundit idiot:
"It is, on the part of much of today’s right, a war on the very concept of community, of a society that uses the institution we call government to offer certain basic protections to all its members."
The founding fathers did not trust government, and refused to rely heavily on it, especially the federal one, even for protection.
They were mostly yoeman jacobin anarchists like Jefferson, or religious protestant radicals.
What Krugman attributes accusingly to Trump is actually, as Palmer shows in great detail, Krugman's own time honored Enlightenment Ideal itself: "... it slipped sometimes into a notion that human nature, when crude, is good; and that order, restraint, discipline, and suppression are affronts to man's dignity and freedom." RRP
Krugman's Enlightenment is the same as Trump's, the same as Rousseau's.
Krugman just doesn't realize it yet, nor do you:
"How, in speaking of men whom he calls null, brutish, stupid, imbecile, can he exalt with enthusiasm their antique simplicity, their original goodness, their primitive innocence?"

COMPARATIVE ADVANTAGE
You used to hear a lot about this idea, even halfway into the 20th Century.
It was an economist's panacea for a virtuous specialized world trade market, leading, by natural self correcting equilibrating forces, to prosperity for all everywhere eventually.
It was an economist's panacea for a virtuous specialized world trade market, leading, by natural self correcting equilibrating forces, to prosperity for all everywhere eventually.
It didn't turn out that way at all.
Reading Bairoch's book, one sees unfold the disaster it became for the under developed world.
Not that I am a fan of third world development in the first place. In fact the opposite.
But were I trying to promote it, comparative advantage would of course with hindsight be the last place for one to look for organizing principles for third world development.

RE THIRD WORLD ISSUES IN GENERAL THE AGENDA
Why am I talking about such crazy things as outdated economic historians talking about problems of third world agriculture?
The reason is to begin to burst the bursting bubble presumption that it was merely Western Imperialism that held the Rest back singlehandedly, apart from other causes besides merely Western imperialism.
This is a theme Bairoch touches on in some works, and we will bring those passages forward, to show that it was not merely the overbearing Western white man who dominated the colored man of the Rest, but also the backwardness of the colored man and his civilization itself which had made such domination possible in the first place, and its causes in the culture and history of the colored races and civilizations themselves rather than in the West itself.
THIRD WORLD AGRICULTURE BAIROCH
The Economic Development of the Third World since 1900
He makes some important observations I never thought about.
Why has third world agriculture, not even to get into third world industrial development, been so problematic?
Some problems have to do with vegetarianism itself, normally associated with religious systems, and its tendency to keep people at or near a subsistence level for various reasons versus animal husbandry and its associated advantages.
Many people nowadays will try to tell you that vegetarianism is good for you and good for the planet, and there are elements of truth to that, but they miss Bairoch's arguments completely.
Additionally and catastrophically, he criticized very early what was then called the green revolution, already seeing where it was heading.
It later has turned into a horrific monster with Monsanto and corporate control of vastly reduced numbers of strains of crops, and built in pesticides, re genetically modified products.
It has been a truly horrific development, originally started by Western market capitalism and its philanthropy to feed a hungry enormous and bloated world population, so to speak, Arthur Daniels Midland, Monsanto, Dow, Etc.
Now it's even Microsoft, Bill Gates, Mr thousand dollar third world toilet, advertising AI to feed a hungry world with high tech.....
See Bairoch's Chapter on Agriculture.

TRUMP VS COHEN PENDING CASE
It would not surprise me if Trump now sues Cohen for legal malpractice.
He has certainly acted like an innocent disgruntled former client! Asking for the maximum sentence for his erstwhile counsel!
He has been known since the very beginning to maximize his opportunities in our legal system, and there certainly are arguments favoring claims against Cohen.
One little problem for Trump under this scenario is that he now would have to enlist another lawyer to sue Cohen.
What are the chances now of finding such a lawyer?
Given our legal system, probably pretty good.
He still also needs and doubtless has a battery of lawyers to handle Stormy and other diverse matters.

Few people in the world have ever in history had clean water.
The water in the city of ancient Rome was cleaner than most people's water has ever been since.
Here, convergolescence is operating to eliminate that short spree of relatively clean water in a wealthy Western country.
It was evanescent.

RE DK SOME THOUGHTS TRUMP
"...The Trump Administration is treating illegal immigrants very cruelly, but that situation, once again, has arisen because of the cowardice of our political establishment, which for about three decades has refused to educate the people about the real economic needs of our nation and the source of the labor that feeds our economic growth...." DK
Failure to educate goes back much farther than merely three decades. Whose fault is it? The media. They claim a mandate!
The political establishment? They favored foreign labor whenever expeditious for other agendas.
The source of the labor that has fed our so called economic growth has not, in the 20th Century, been based at all on illegal immigrants.
It has been based overrwhelmingly on foreign Asian labor. And on labor in Europe and Canada, which was not cheap.

Before they do all of that, they have to attack their corporation charters, state by state, too!
Why?
Disassemble global corporatism, otherwise it will be corporate vigilantism, with state and federal governments gone by democratic anarchism...

IN THIS COUNTRY INDIVIDUAL STATES CHARTER CORPORATIONS
Were it to become of use, say to extort concessions from MNCs, individual states in which they are incorporated would be the likeliest place to look for political leverage.
This leverage might be discovered and exploited somewhere at some time by "cash strapped states".
If I were a cash strapped state, I would extort the heck out of those MNCS incorporated in my state, or else, by state legislation, terminate the corporate charter.
A first step might be to legally prevent corporations from transferring their corporate charter to another state. Prevent corporate forum shopping. Delaware was always a big corporate charter draw.
I believe that large corporations need generally to be unwound, especially the largest ones with global reach.
They no longer serve the general welfare here, to say the least.
Another scenario: cash strapped states go out of business as political entities, devolve back into "free cities" and ungoverned frontier areas; and corporations cease to be legal persons at that point.
Any person can at that point simply seize erstwhile corporate assets, wherever he or she finds them,McDonald's Stores, Walmart stores, gas stations, looted and then put to some other use, of whatever kind whatever, say slum housing maybe.

Everything he discusses, and much more, the authoritarian Radical Republicans did to the South, and only to the South.
They betrayed their Northern electorate much more viciously than Trump or the Republican party could ever do now at the state and local level.
They freed the negroes, put them in control of the South, and in a position to migrate North, which they finally eventually did in great numbers, especially to places like Chicago and Washington DC.

RE STULTIFERA NAVIS
Economists have turned out to be the sort of one- discipline, doomsday, philosophes of the 20 th Century West.
They deserve to be cashiered, as the philosophes of the French Enlightenment were, by the French revolutionaries.
Many other flora and fauna, allowed to spring up everywhere, similarly, need pruning, not to isolate just the economists.
RE SPAT OVER RUSSIAN NUCLEAR BOMBERS VENEZUELA
If the West had kept its imperial system intact, we wouldn't have shit like this in the Western or Eastern Hemispheres.
The Age of the Democratic Revolution....
Russia could have been kept at bay, from the 18th Century forward.
Dittohead China.

It was mainly a gift, or a curse, however one views it, to America, in the West, where it could be comprehended, somewhat. Jazz, blues, not originally that well received, even here, for obvious reasons.

SEE VENONA DAVID KARR DREW PEARSON WALTER LIPPMANN MARY PRICE
Haynes, Ch 8 re journalists, p 240 and following, re Karr and the Pearsons.
Karr was Pearson's chief aide, and a Soviet agent. How do you have a close aide like that and not be a secret communist?
Certainly the Soviets believed he was firmly on their side, probably long before he hired Karr.
If Pearson wasn't a communist, he certainly put on a good act, masquerading, time after time, from a communist perspective and against anti communist targets, in his columns.
He ruined Patton, drove Forrestal to suicide, as his own partner Anderson admitted, and besmirched countless others.
Joe McCarthy had his number as, at the very least, a sympathetic and willing chump stooge of Stalin, although he wasn't believed at the time. Haynes, Venona, p. 245.
Drew Pearson Fallacy
Mary Price, another Soviet agent, was a close aid to Walter Lippmann....
Think about it.

THE GLOBAL TRAP THE 20 : 80 SOCIETY FOIBLES
This was a very nice summary, for the time.
But filled with confusion at the end, supporting the EU, lost cause, verdict of history, baby.
Maybe now it is more like The 10 : 90 Society, and falling.
At the end, they talk about America still controlling its destiny, can reverse globalization, things like that.
Re EU:10 Ways To Prevent the 20 : 80 Society...
Even in 1996, that was already long a species of nonsense for the EU.
America wasn't in a position to reverse its own initiative, as they point out globalization was the US' own initiative, even by the time Vernon had previously published Sovereignty At Bay.
That day was long gone by 1996, too.
So what is ahead, a peaceful freer and freer trade Cobdenist global society of universal peace, equality, and one colorness, and a unitarian, universalist global market church state?

The spoken trialogue:
Gertruda: So good to see you again Tambie.

What they really think:
G: Hate that African chimp!

Re Cohen:
Cohen pled open.........what an idiot.
Criminal law 101........this idiot never even watched Rumpole!
Now we have to warehouse this fool in a luxury suite.
He needs to go to prison contractor in Africa.
Imagine how Russians are enjoying this.
What are they doing in the Kremlin?
Cursing their lot for not having enough time, away from pressing crooked malevolent business, to fully enjoy this shit!
