Collins did some great analytic articles on the concept of charisma, and personalities as examples.
These are essential reading.
His distinctions, especially beween front stage and backstage charisma are critical.
Also look at his critical discussions of revolutions in several articles. This is also critical reading.
Collins also wrote a great book, trying to coopt the discipline of philosophy itself within sociology.
(This is really for intellectuals, which do not exist here, and which you are not.)
The Sociology of Philosophies
Collins covered all of world history re the sociology of philosophies.
In all his 1,100 or so pages, and Collins was very liberal in including everything, there is no mention of anything like "African Civilization philosophy" of any kind shape or color.
