ONE CANNOT COUNTERACT A WHIG INTERPRETATION WITH A CONTRARY WHIG INTERPRETATION

"...Both white and Black Americans have been fighting for racial equality at least since the time of the American Revolution — which is why we no longer have slavery and legal segregation in the United States. Today’s popular one-sided view is effective propaganda, but terrible history...." David Kaiser

White colonists never even dreamed of fighting for  equality for negroes, their natural enemies in the colonial labor market, or for their liberation from negro only slavery, when fully half of all white colonists were or had been indentured servants themselves, or were descendants of indentured servants.

No negro slaves in 1776 were fighting for negro equality. Trust me.

They were illiterate enslaved negroes who normally knew their place and glad to be alive negroes not still enslaved in Africa.

This Whiggish account, and this quote, is as erroneous as the Whiggish Harvard report Professor Kaiser attacks.

It is, altogether, a real fulsome Pig's Breakfast of misinterpretations on two sides of the Liberal Left.
