Rereading Howard's "Churchill And National Unity"
Even Howard, a liberal I believe, grudgingly acknowledged, near the end, the ultimate need:
"Ultimately it can be achieved only by the creation of national wealth...." to the end of the article.
He had some rather important insights, and distinctions, to make in this article.
Nationalism has had a bad name. It sounds terrible, until one considers the alternatives.
We, here, have never had much of a real sense of it, for many reasons.
We tend to think in terms of your issues (your favorite brands), your state, your town, your anarchic individual rights, etc.
