RE HITLER'S WAR UTTER TRAVESTY OF THE TRUTH
Most American historians universally blame Germany for WWI, and then blame Hitler for WWII, much as they blindly blame the South, only, for the Civil War, and for the problems of its long aftermath, even long after the Reconstruction period up to today.
For those who have looked closely at European diplomatic and strategic history, back into the 19th Century, this is an utterly false picture of WWI and WWII, but one which the Anglophone, and Francophone worlds have long been able to successfully foist on their uninformed populaces.

Where do I start, suggesting ways to yank this concept this way or that?
As always, I suggest you start with what you have, and what you like, or think you like.
It will be that element of doubt, the 'think you like', that I will prey on.
OK. I am going to just make a few suggestions, as usual.
First, start with what you have. Say, it's leftover chicken. Say, it's beef. Say, it's pork. It's usually one of those. Add the slop from the roast, if it was roasted with anything.
Throw it in a big pot. Add the following, based on what is in the pantry or the fridge or the freezer: canned white beans (you can use other beans, even black eyed peas would be great), pepperoni you intended to use for pizza but forgot to do, Italian sausage, liver pate you had the other day, tomato sauce you opened but didn't finish with pasta, leftover white wine, a squirrel is fine too.
Let me tell you something: quantities don't matter!
Food writers and cook book authors feed you all bull like this: you need to follow recipes, shit like that. Don't believe it!
Most of you hate lamb. I know a lot of people like that. Let's face it, you're Americans! The Beef People...
Let me just tell you something: anything even remotely resembling cassoulet, which this kindof does, needs a hint of lamb or mutton. You decide.
it also needs an organ meat hint of flavor, thus I suggested pate. You can throw in leftover or raw liver as a substitute. It can be beef or chicken. You want to dice it fine.
A good cheap type of lamb for this dish is, say, lamb neck. That sounds gruesome to most Americans. It does have some nasty bone structures, but you can learn to negotiate that. Don't serve it to your grandmother, she will choke.
Throw whatever you have got of the above in the pot and simmer for about an hour.

We have a history of utter failure in the 20th Century with regard to both national industrial policy and national trade and commercial policy.
The development of information technology in the later 20th Century has proven that we are going to be beaten with our own technological innovations, free gifts to hostile civilizations, without ever having developed a coherent national technology policy both to specially benefit and to protect only Americans in the first place. Put another way, why should citizens pay taxes that are used to benefit primarily their rivals, adversaries, or even enemies, hardly their partners?

THE MENU NEW YORK STRIP IMPROVMENT
I hate NY Strips. I never eat them. There are a lot of reasons. In my view only an idiot eats a NY Strip if he has a choice.
I just want to suggest some ways that you losers, who like these dogs, might improve them...or, shall we say, ' Improv Them '. I sort of feel sorry for you...Call it: Culinary Philanthropy
One option: You can buy from someone who aged the bejesus out of them. I don't think that will help much.
OK. My option. What you do, you fry some really good bacon, only to bare bare al dente. It needs to be still very tender and fatty.
You take a very long narrow blade knife, and you make two long narrow incisions, lengthwise, through the strip.
Using the handle of a wooden spoon, force a strip of bacon into and all the way through each of the incisions, so that it sticks out at both ends.
Slather the whole thing generously in the rendered bacon fat.
Broil to your taste, not too awfully long.
Why do I do NY Strips this way? They are tough. I never had one that was tender.
Many people know about wrapping filet mignon around with bacon. That is for flavor too, but the filet mignon does not need it for tenderness. The NY Strip needs all the tenderizing fat it can get.
You could also do meat tenderizer for these. Not really a bad idea, on top of the bacon treatment for flavor.
You could also call this Pork Barrel Politics.

RE TRUMP'S TRANSITION SPEECH THE OTHER DAY
The speech, as far as it went, sounds great.
There are a lot of problems with doing what he claims he wants to do.

One important point is that what he proposes, without much more, would not accomplish what he says he wants to do.
In order to do something like that, one would have to have a sort of Marshall Plan for the US, on steroids.
There are contemporary examples of states which have done something like this. I can name a few, which have successfully carried out enormous industrial and technological developmental programs.
One big difference, is that they were enabled to develop under peace time conditions with enormous trade and investment subsidies incentives and concessions, from the US and the West to undergird their initiatives.
The US, were it to embark on such a program of redevelopmentalism, would enjoy none of those advantages now or in the foreseeable future. It is especially tragic that such a reform is likelier to occur, if at all, only in small bits, in the context of ongoing military encounters which not only do not favor such a sweeping domestic reform agenda for its own sake, but would drain away resources for peace time domestic development.
It would require enormous political reform, and require decades of focussed and determined effort to carry out. The US has never enjoyed such a situation, and was not designed politically to accomodate such a thing.
The only analogous episode in American history, in terms of scale, is the mobilization and conduct of WWII.
In terms of reform, the only two examples of radical reform, of the kind Trump's alleged program would really require, and not be tantamount to revolution, were the liberal reforms in Britain in the 19th Century, and "the Revolution from Above" in Prussia and certain other princely states after 1800.
The only analogous episode in American history, in terms of scale, is the mobilization and conduct of WWII.
