I know nothing about this subject, but certain thing jump out at you.
If you are a private IT contractor now, for military contracts, and you require a security clearance for that contract, even a low level one, you are basically, really, if not technically legally, a paramilitary mercenary, preferably subject to martial law, not a private citizen agent/employee subject to civil (common, US) law.

CHINESE POLICE NOW PATROL ROME FLORENCE THE THIN WEDGE HOW ABOUT WHITEHALL
Every foreign country which cannot speak Italian should have its police patrolling Italy.
Americans, EU, India, Russia, Africa, Israel, Japan, etc, all should be able to control policing in weak iffy places like Italy.
Get ready.
Why not have Putin invite Chinese police to patrol Moscow for them?
How well do you think that would work.
How about having Muslims patrolling Jerusalem, to protect them?
Maybe the Queen could ask the Chinese to patrol Whitehall and the rest of London to protect Chinese tourists.

WHAT CAUSED THE DECLINE OF WESTERN CIVILIZATION? ENLIGHTENMENT
Although people like Professor Kaiser may disagree, I can actually summarize it, roughly, in one word:

The end of WWII was neither a victory, nor a peace, worth having for the West.
Russia was a so called ally in Europe, and an enemy in Asia.
Field Marshall Montgomery said we won the war but lost the peace.
We did not even win the war, leaving Russia in absolute control of Eastern Europe. That was a military defeat, turn it any way you want.

ONE OF THE BIG LESSONS OF HISTORY
is that if one hasn't much to gain by a war, little to lose on the sidelines, and can let others fight in it instead of you if they insist, why wouldn't you stay out of it?
This is advice the US has seldom heeded. Vietnam and Korea jump out.
The problem, re the First and Second World Wars, was that there was more at stake than was known here, and dumb isolationism was strong.
In most recent wars, Vietnam, Cambodia, Korea, Afghanistan, Libya, Israel, Middle East in general, Africa, South and Central America, etc., there is less to gain, and more to lose.
