NYT INDIA JAPAN US NAVY WAR GAMES INDIAN OCEAN WHERE'S RUSSIA!

Not a big surprise. Their ostensible potential opponent?

China....our factory, our banker....

China, suddenly 'came from nowhere'....that was the story Thurow, among others I am sure, trotted out, a while back. 'They had a very successful agricultural revolution and then were able to suddenly industrialize big'....that is the story that is told in the West.... It is the liberal story of why China, after 1971, and especially after 1980, has, until recently, been a good, rather sudden, brilliantly entrepreneurial, market capitalist, neighbor...

None of them, India, Japan, US, can really be trusted, of course, by any of the others.

Long civilizational stories.

They are all deep, and longstanding, betrayers.....in various ways.

What other player(s) is are there, who isn't aren't emphasized?

Think about it. Russia?

Why not talk about Russia, too, a sort of large troika confronting China?  Or is it not rather the other way around?
