WESLEY IS ONTO SOMETHING WE THE PEOPLE

The founders certainly did not consider black people part of that we the people, back then.

Even Lincoln, and almost all others, in his time, still did not.

His ultimate goal still remained transportation, not assimilation.

That tells you something of the kind of dream world Lincoln was in.

Martin Luther King, much later, had a very different dream.

Loncoln's dream wasn't King's dream.

If you believe that, you are having King's dream, not Lincoln's.

The Northern states had no intention of assimilating a large number of black citizens, at or after the Civil War, and did not have to until the mid 20th Century.

You can kid yourself about it.
