France is trying to change its male tendency, to piss randomly anywhere on the street, by erecting toilets like flower beds. Admirable...
I want to discuss some other aspects of different toilet designs not often brought to light. Let's just start tonight with ours.
Why would you want to read anything, on something like this, from a broken down old philosopher? That is what I am. I masqueraded, for a rather long time, as a trial lawyer, but I know the truth. I never really had a choice. I still don't.

Most people here look at toilets abroad and think they have the best in the world. With part of that I agree, but there are problems...
Is it really a good thing to have toilet bowls, public or private, always partly filled with standing water right under where you sit? Granted, they are flushed. They are sometimes even cleaned.
Does flushing remove bacteria that were there from the last 100, or 200, or 1,000 uses, public or private? Does periodic cleaning solve this issue? How well, do you think?
Leaving aside that issue, what about backsplash? Everyone has experienced this phenomenon, often, everywhere, public and private toilets included. You use the toilet, and the standing water splashes back onto you.
How do you feel about the safety issues, if any, raised by backsplash? Do you feel good about it? Flushing solves this problem? Did you ever wonder about that? What went through your mind?
Does that mean anything to you or not, given what I have noted about standing water, and flushing not fully clearing standing water, and standing bacteria? Sometimes bowls that aren't cleaned for about a week develop a ring... What do you think is in that ring? Could there even be something like an invisible bacterial ring, even before you can see it down there, or not?
