Just one little related point: Morality is conventional, but of course that does not make it consistent.
Neither drone strikes nor poison gas are WMD, in fact the opposite.
Neither is related to physis, global warming issue, etc., but rather are moral, tactical, political, or strategic matters.
Drone strike civilian casualties outrage: no.
Poison gas civilian casualties outrage: yes.

The Sophists considered both physics and morality to be by nomos, by convention.
