RE KRUGMAN TODAY NYT EDITORIAL

He sees problems with S & P, and with US debt situation, as short term, short term by looking to motley fool rating agencies' recent foibles, lashing out at rating agency lackeys,

and short term politics, he says, mostly on the idiot fringe right.

He is not going to blame economics as a profession, he is going to blame politics.

(See also my note re Ms McBride today, CNN, and blaming someone else, the Brits, lashing out at the Brit laissez faire press, not laissez faire journalism generally.)

Our problems are not 'short term problems', and he of all people is in a position to be aware of that.

But, hey, how to admit that you, and your whole profession, have been flatly wrong, or in the case of the free press, corrupt,  for a long time?
