Here's another one I was always drawn to:
"Mode of production determines form of life."
The 'social sciences' were really just getting under way.
This was one of Marx's great bonne mots.
It is not as simplistic as many fundamental principles.
There are a lot of interesting implications,
but I'll leave working some of those out to the imaginative ones out there.
