You really have to look at the article below, in the context of European and world history, to see how bad it got, over the decades after 1760, until the culmination of dumb Western liberalism in the 20th Century.
If the European liberals, or what was left of The Old European Order, were dumb, their American spawn, at all times, were still dumber.
