Of course he was in with the tight, tropical, Republican crowd, down there, in Miami, Rebozo, Nixon, etc. They dropped names. They lived at 5660 Collins; I was a guest, once or twice. Not a bad address, back then, in the 60s.

 

The company obviously had some powerful state connections, given its developmental presence on both lower Gulf coasts of Florida.

It also had powerful political enemies, as well as bottom feeding private predators waiting, for a misstep.
