Is he going to fully queer the security of Japan, against, say, China (whom he, and especially Bannon, also incidentally richly detest!)?
For Japan, it will seem like the queering they had got, (and very fully deserved) by the Nixon Shock!
(Of course the Nixon Shock has been terrible for the US, in the long run, but was a great thing to do to Japan at just that time, 1971!)

Let's just call the Nixon Shock a pivot, so that later references to a Pivot are better understood, but perhaps also better understood in different contexts, also.
