BROOKS' SIMON SAYS ENLIGHTENMENT
The point to make here is that the tradition, down from the Milner Group until today, considers that globalization is really still the Enlightenment, moving forward, in progress, and in history.
You are either an enlightened post Milner globalist or else a racist. That is the universe of discourse.
One of the interesting things about this view is that, in the 19th Century, when modern racialist ideas themselves arose, out of various intellectual, literary, imperialist, economic, social scientific, and political threads, they were themselves threads of the defunct enlightenment tradition itself.
Ayn Rand, rational self interest.
Racial distinctions, based ostensibly on modern enlightened advances in social and exact science, and knowledge in various discipines.
Things like that.
If you look at so controversial a book as The Bell Curve, it was written based on research by many eminent scientists all of whom would call themselves heirs to an Enlightenment tradition.
