Bombing The Middle East
Not really because they needed to, but because they wanted to, and because they found they were good at it, or at least they thought so, and that they enjoyed it, as a pastime.
Importantly, they also found that bombing
the Middle East did not disrupt markets. Markets actually liked it too!
