Pace Faux' equivocations re globalization not being per se driven by ideology, not true, not even his own view elsewhere:
Vernon had acknowledged as much in 1971, a long passage recounting the laissez faire neoclassical underpinnings, both before and after WW II, p. 210, 211: "...that ideological commitment mattered...."
Faux, elsewhere in The Global Class War, acknowledges similar themes re globalization being an ideological movement, eg at p. 89:
"Liberating the transnational corporation in the global marketplace required other nations to open up as well....So the conservative campaign was duplicated abroad. With some guidance from the American conservative movement, business in other nations created similar ideological campaigns...."
