If you are doing Whig history, and believe me there are a lot of you out there, you are really doing historical fiction.
You are actually fiction writers, like Robert Graves, Winston Graham, and a thousand others, etc, etc.
Many masquerading as writers of true history.

Your judgments of history, verdicts of history, fictional pastiches, now devoutly selectively believed by your respective followers now. That is, after all, why they are Whig histories.
They have nothing, unfortunately, to do with historical truth or veracity, with what might have happened, back whenever, whether in the 1950s, 1850s, 1650s, or 50 BC.
