You only have to read a little good US history to get a sense of how ill served American citizens have been by their state or local governments.
Yet they, everyone, usually mainly criticize the federal one,
(which is also not working in average citizens' best interests),
as if this were the only malefactor.
It really is an indicator of how ill governed we have always been.
